Orchard Farmworker

Work description

We operate a 5-acre peach orchard with plans for continued growth and expansion to follow in the coming years. We also plan on expanding the orchard to include apple trees in the future. We need seasonal help with planting trees during the dormant season. Employees will be assisting in setting trees, prune trees before they bud in the spring, train trees to allow for maximum fruit yield, fertilize trees in the spring. Employees will also construct trellises to assist with support trees, perform weed control and protect trees from inclement winter weather conditions. Employees will need to assist with equipment maintenance on orchard equipment. Will also need to construct, install, and maintain irrigation systems. Employees will assist with varmint control to protect trees as well. During the summer months when fruit are growing on trees not much work is needed since we do not want to disturb the growth. Employer will provide incentive-based performance bonuses at the end of the contract at employer's discretion.
