Work description

We are a 2000 head feedlot and 500 head cow/calf ranch. We put up our own feed, silage, wet corn and hay. Work cattle quite often and around cattle daily in feedlot. Most equipment is John Deere. Applicants need to be able to drive manual transmissions in trucks. Duties would include, barbed wire fencing in pastures. All facets of feedlot maintenance. Steel fence, waterers. Pen maintenance and Cattle processing. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: attach/detach implements; be able to handle working in high humidity; clean work areas; construct facilities; haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil; load crops and drive trucks to transport to and from fields and/or storage locations or facilities; load and unload materials and commodities; maintain grounds and landscaping; operate self propelled machinery; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, general care, grading, sorting, working, placing identification on, or relocating; use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives; use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools and work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: dirt moving equipment; manure spreading equipment; pickups, cars, etc; self-propelled machinery; semi trucks; skid steers; spreaders; straight frame trucks; tractor/trailer combinations and tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: cattle. Must speak and understand English.
