Work description
Background Rankin Property Management, LLC is a landscape contractor primarily engaged in commercial and residential landscape services. We have a temporary peakload need for 4 workers to be employed as Landscape Laborers (SOC 37-3011 Landscaping and Groundskeeping Workers) at our location in Pearl, Mississippi. We are a new company, formed on July 9, 2026, and a new H-2B program user. We have turned to the H-2B program to secure a reliable temporary workforce for our period of need. Our requested period of need is consistent with historical norms for the occupation in our area of employment. As proof of our business existence, the Mississippi Secretary of State recognizes our business as an active Limited Liability Company (LLC) in Good Standing . Regulatory Standards Per the regulations, a peakload labor need is one in which the employer regularly employs permanent workers to perform the labor services but needs to supplement its permanent staff on a temporary basis due to a seasonal or short-term demand. Such temporary additions must not become part of the employers regular operation. The request for temporary workers must also represent bona fide job opportunities for the number of workers requested. This represents a change from previous filings as our business now performs some (although minimal) landscaping activities throughout the winter months. Temporary Need Due to the nature of our business, we regularly employ permanent workers in the designated occupation. However, due to periods of peak business volume during the requested period of need, we require temporary workers to supplement our permanent workforce in order to satisfy our work demands. After the requested period of need, work demands diminish to levels that can be adequately managed and sustained by our permanent staff, without the assistance of supplemental labor. Accordingly, the temporary workers do not become part of our regular operation, as business circumstances no longer warrant the employment of such workers. We perform services under ongoing landscape maintenance agreements, property management contracts, homeowners' association agreements, and commercial property maintenance contracts that require the company to provide regular ground maintenance and seasonal landscape transition services throughout the year. During the period from December through April, these contracts require a concentrated level of labor-intensive work, including removal of seasonal plant materials, winter pruning of trees and shrubs, restoration of landscape beds, debris removal, and preparation of properties for spring growth. While these properties are serviced year-round, the volume of labor required during this period increases substantially because multiple contracted properties simultaneously undergo seasonal changeovers and spring preparation activities. As a result, the company's permanent workforce is insufficient to meet the temporary spike in labor demands associated with fulfilling its contractual obligations. Our need for temporary workers ends in April when business activities diminish due to the decline in seasonal changeovers and the work can be handled by our permanent workforce.
