Work description
Attend to live farm, ranch animals that may include cattle; Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, catching, and loading animals; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate; Clean and maintain animal housing areas; Inspect, maintain, prepare, and repair livestock facilities, buildings, pens, yards, and fences; Break ice in watering facilities; Assist in birth deliveries; Mix feed; Prepare and ship calves; Move equipment or livestock from one location to another manually or using trucks or carts; Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed to animals.
